James (Jimmy) Carty of Trien, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon slipped away on October 23rd, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family.
Predeceased by his parents, Susanna (née McHugh) and Michael Carty. Loved by his wife, Frances (née Daly), his children Mary, Susan, Michael, Concepta, Martin, Fintan, James, Christina, Gerry, and Bernard, his grandchildren Dara, Matthew, Cathal, and James, his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, his sons and daughters-in-law, extended family, neighbours and friends.
James will be lying in repose in his home Tuesday 24th from 3pm to 7pm followed by removal to St. Caolin’s church, Trien at 7.15pm. Requiem Mass at St. Caolin’s church, Trien at 12pm Wednesday 25th, with burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Castlerea.
Jimmy’s family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Patrick’s ward, University Hospital Galway, Palliative Care, Roscommon, and The Irish Cancer Society.
